Good news for travelers! Citizens of 50 countries can now visit China visa-free for up to 30 days in 2026.
Which Countries Qualify?
Since late 2023/early 2024, visa-free entry to China has been possible for many countries. Here is the complete list of 50 countries that do not require a visa to enter China for business, tourism, family or friend visits, exchange programs, and transit. You may stay in China for up to 30 days visa-free.

Note: The full list above combines both European and non-European countries for simplicity. This regulation is valid until December 31, 2026 (and is expected to be extended).
What Can You Do Visa-Free?
With this policy, eligible travelers can:
- Tourism — Visit China as a tourist
- Business — Attend meetings or business activities
- Family visits — Visit friends or relatives
- Transit — Transit through China
- Exchange programs — Participate in cultural or educational exchanges
Maximum stay: 30 days per visit. You must leave before the 30-day limit.
Important Reminders
- Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your entry date
- You cannot work or study on a visa-free entry
- Extensions are not guaranteed — plan your departure accordingly
