Shenzhen is one of China’s most vibrant cities — and it’s right on Hong Kong’s doorstep. Whether you’re here for food, tech, shopping, or nightlife, crossing the border is easier than you think.
How to Get to Shenzhen
There are two ways to cross from Hong Kong into Shenzhen:
1. 30-Day Visa-Free Entry (50 Countries)
If your passport is from one of 50 countries, you can enter mainland China visa-free for up to 30 days. This covers most European, American, and Asian nationalities including the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Japan, and many more. No pre-registration, no fees — just show your passport and go.
2. 5-Day Shenzhen Visa
Travelers from many countries can get a 5-day-Shenzhen-visa directly at the Luohu/Lowu or Huanggang border — no advance application needed. The cost is around RMB 130 (roughly US$ 19) for most nationalities, with a few exceptions -.
