As of today, Dec. 20th 2021 the Hong Kong-Shenzhen border is still closed to people without any special visa.
What is speculated:
- There will quotas (probably a few 1000 per day)
- You need to be registeres in the Hong Kong health code system
- Business traveller may be given priority
More isn’t really known at this point in time. There are some Omicron cases in Southern China, this could be yet another stumbling block for a speedy opening.
