The Opening Looks Far Away

Now, mid April 2022 the opening situation looks worse than ever.

Here is what you probably already know:

  • In early March 2022 Hong Kong had well over 70,000 daily cases. Now down to below 800 a day.
  • Omicron arrived in China. Shenzhen went into lockdown for a week in mid March. Looks relatively fine now.
  • Shanghai is in the middle of the serious Omicron outbreak - and no end in sight.
  • Some other cities have smaller outbreaks and there are restrictions.

Right now it’s impossible to predict how long the wave will last. There could be easily more outbreaks in other cities.

Local people have travel restrictions too and need reason and tests to go to other cities.

And here the Official page for Shenzhen (in Chinese).

Maybe the 2nd half of 2022 brings some change. At this point it’s impossible to predict.
